Based out of Turkey’s capital Ankara, family owned KARTUZ has been in the salt business for nearly five decades. Throughout this time, we have built and maintained long-lasting relations with large, small, private, and public companies who trust our services. Our retail brand BiSALT has a rich gourmet selection of all-natural salts that are never processed with chemicals, totally unrefined and rich in minerals. BiSALT maintains its position as the market leader with 40 products sold at 1500 sales points across Turkey.

1975
KARTUZ salt company is established as a family business in Ankara. The company starts penetrating the market to supply bakeries with salt used in bread making.
1989
KARTUZ diversifies its product range and starts catering to food-grade and industrial salt needs across Turkey.
2010

With the vision of second generation, KARTUZ starts to focus on all-natural salt market. As a result, BiSALT, a retail brand dedicated to natural salt production, is created.

2011

BiSALT becomes the first brand to introduce natural Himalayan rock salt to Turkish market.

2015

Second generation completely takes over the company management. The new team sets up guidelines for establishing a corporate culture by revising company structure to include focused departments.

2017

BiSALT gourmet salt collection starts to take its place on the shelves of 1000 global and local retail chains.

2017

BiSALT is rewarded TTKD’s ‘Golden Brand’ Consumer Award.

2018

KARTUZ starts expanding its export capability by selling gourmet salt products to the neighbouring countries as well as Europe and Asia both with its own brand and through private labelling.

2019

KARTUZ moves to its new location, a modern building where production facility and management departments can freely exist together.

2020

BiSALT takes its position as the natural salt market leader with 40 products sold at 2000 sales points across Turkey.

2021

As of 2021, BiSALT reaches the sale of 2 million packaged natural salt products.
